How do I inquire about my Income Tax Refund?
The Internal Revenue Service has a toll free number to handle your refund inquiries. Please have your social security number, your filing status, and the whole dollar amount of your refund at hand. The Internal Revenue Service requests that you wait at least four to six weeks before calling. The toll free number is 1-800-829-4477, there is also a toll free number for New York State refunds, that is 1-800-443-3200.
